Benefits

Know the advantages of our machines

Low operating cost

The gas-fueled machine uses 4 45kg-gas tanks and you need a tractor operator and the diesel fuel for the tractor. It will provide protection to 10 hectares for up to 5 hours.
The diesel fuel version of the equipment guarantees 5 hours of protection to 10 hectares and it requires 300L of diesel, a tractor operator, and the diesel fuel for the tractor.

Initial investment

Its initial investment cost is significantly lower than any other method. The savings are greater when operation and/or use costs are compared.

Total control

This method gives you control over radiation frost and also over the freezing coming from a polar mass, which makes it the most complete frost control method

After-sales customer service

To give our clients the most significant benefits, we have a team of professionals constantly innovating the product.

Convenience

The wide YPF-GAS network of distributors ensures the gas supply wherever your property is located. The bailment for the 45kg-gas tanks is free of charge.

Compatibility

If you are protected with anti-hail nets, the equipment improves its performance without affecting the installations.

FAQ’s | Frequently asked questions

How much tractor power is needed to operate the Frost Dragon equipment?

The tractor must have at least 40 HP at power take-off and 65 HP at the engine. If your tractor does not have these requirements, you may consult our advisors about other alternatives.

What is the temperature the hot air should have when the equipment is operating?

The air temperature at the outlets must be within a range of between 80ºC and 100°C during frost.

Can I increase the amount of surface area covered by the Frost Dragon equipment by raising the outlet temperature?

No, you can’t. By increasing the surface, the length of the circuit will also increase. Therefore, the machine will not have enough time to go through the same point again since it will exceed the maximum time of 10 to 12 minutes.

What lifetime does the equipment have?

The oldest equipment has been in operation for 9 years and has not yet presented any structural problems. Therefore we believe that its lifetime will easily exceed 20 years.

What if I run out of gas during the frost?

We recommend starting work with full gas tanks and being prepared to change them in the field whenever necessary.

The gas consumption of the equipment is approximately between 30 and 35 kg per hour. Knowing this, it is possible to calculate the time needed to operate with the cylinders already set up in the Lazo Frost Dragon equipment.

What is the perfect temperature to start operating?

It is recommended to start operating at temperatures between 1°C and 2°C as a way to ensure that the crops have not been damaged at the time of operation.

Can I cover two kinds of crops at the same time?

e.g., 5 peach hectares and 5 plum hectares.

Of course. This is one of the greatest advantages since the machine is meant to constantly move through the field during cold weather.

What kind of thermometer should be used to measure air temperature during freezing?

We recommend using pulp thermometers, the same ones used to measure the fruit temperature in refrigerators.
